FAQ

Here are some questions no one has asked:

  • Why are you doing this? If you look under the menu options, you'll see "Profiles from Hell." I believe this might answer the question. I'm weary and want to believe there are still really good men out there. I'm hoping he might be wondering where I am, too. This is where you come in, dear reader. :)
  • Do you have kids?  I do not, but I love kids and would welcome yours.
  • Do you have a deep love for Celine Dion?  Yes. Yes I do.
  • Would you be open to dating a Bama fan? I would have to pray and fast over this one.
  • Are you open to moving? I am. However, I love Knoxville and would love to stay if possible, but moving isn't a dealbreaker.
  • Why do you think past relationships haven't worked? I haven't dated a ton. After my broken engagement in my twenties, I threw myself into college ministry. I really only started dating about four years ago, and let's just say I was very naive. I learned about areas where I was really weak. I found it difficult to face the reality of who a person actually was versus who I wanted them to be. I've dated men who didn't want a relationship, but more companionship. I've dated men who were divorced and never-married. I've dated men who should now be eunuchs.
  • What's wrong with you? Hmmm.....I believe that's an underlying message sent to single people over a certain age. I have plenty "wrong" with me, but I'm also a learner and always trying to grow.
  • What do you stand for politically? I don't necessarily align with either party, but I definitely am NOT MAGA.
  • Do you cook? I do. I love baking more.
  • Are you affectionate? I grew up in a family that wasn't affectionate, even though my little sister loves a good long lingering hug. However, I am super affectionate with the people I date.
  • Does the dog sleep in the bed? Nope. Gibbe Wayland is banished to the guest room.
  • Do you exercise? I do. I go to OrangeTheory and walk.
  • Do you drink? I don't drink, but I don't mind if you do.
  • Are you a homebody or a nomad? I'm not as much of a nomad as I used to be. I like getting out and sharing adventures, going to restaurants, spending time with friends, but I also like being home. It's about balance.
  • What kind of music do you like? Americana (Jason Isbell), The Wailin' Jennys, all kinds of worship music, some country, 80s, Andrew Peterson, Jill Phillips, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors
  • What's your social life like? I have a close circle of friends. I don't go to big parties with 100s of people. We go to movies, the park, and have lots of dinners at each other's houses. I love the occasional concert and definitely college football games.
  • Are you part of a church? The last ten years have been a mixed bag with church, but yes, I am newly involved in a local church.
  • Are you looking for marriage or companionship? Homegirl wants the whole thing - marriage.
  • What if you meet men but you aren't compatible? I'm going to think through all the single women I know to see who might be a match.
  • What kind of life are you hoping to build with someone? Peaceful, safe, and open to holding up a mirror (not literally ;)) to one another, while still choosing to love and move toward each other. A life where others are welcome, can sit around our table, and find family. I want purpose and meaning. I'm 51, which means I've developed a bent toward myself because of being single for so long. I want to learn to give and sacrifice. Bonus points if you want to go to UT games and kayak with me.

What is going on?

Well, new friend, here we are. If you found my page, you must be a curious stalker, looking for some good entertainment. Grab your popcorn and buckle up. If you're like me, you might even have second-hand embarrassment.  Hi, I'm Beth.  Apparently, I've resorted to marketing. I would like the record to show this wasn't Plan A. Plan A was to meet a wonderful man organically—probably while reaching for the same book in a charming independent bookstore, or when our flights were inexplicably upgraded, and we ended up sitting next to each other on the way to London. But "organic" secretly had a lot of pesticides. Plan B was dating apps. I could share with you my photo album entitled "Profiles from Hell" that has over 150 men dressed as clowns (no shade to Ronald), on ventilators, asking for a third person to join their marriage, and some unusually close to their cows.  And now here we are. I have a QR code. Honestly, why not? The dating game has changed, a...
